LINDA YILIN WEN

Hi! I am Linda, a design researcher on the Game Intelligence team at Microsoft Research. My goal is to create safe, responsible and joyful AI technologies accessible to everyone. Currently, I lead the UX research and design efforts on a multidisciplinary team focused on generative AI models for gaming. Read about our latest research on Nature.

I am excited about AI’s potential to empower game creators worldwide, enabling them to tell their unique stories. Previously, I worked on the Teachable AI Experiences team, where I designed personalized accessibility solutions for blind and low-vision users leveraging the power of AI.

I hold a Master of Science and a Master of Arts degree in design from Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art. I studied international relations and linguistics for my undergraduate degree at Pomona College in Los Angeles.

My footprints span across 42 countries over 5 continents. I am fluent in Mandarin Chinese, English, Spanish and French, and I've worked in China, the US, the UK, Mauritius and Spain. When I'm not traveling to the next destination on my bucket list, you can catch me dancing salsa, bachata and swing, jamming with my band as a vocalist, and cooking up new recipes.
